My fadder got chains
Growing up in a rougher part of St. John's, Vickie recalls fighting on a different level. It was often about how tough your dad was and whether or not he had the dreaded chains. No one has ever seen chains but it was a common threat on The Block to call in the help of someone's dad who had chains.

46:30 Sharing with strangers
The mantra for Are You Mad At Me? for 2025 is "Let's try our luck with strangers." One of the biggest mistakes self published authors, entrepreneurs and podcasters make is they share their work with family and friends and take it personally when it isn't met with resounding support.
People have their own stuff going on and they know a certain version of you. If you've changed or upgraded or improved or have reinvented yourself for the thousandth time, surround yourself with love and support. Know your worth. There's a whole universe out there waiting to meet you!
1:03:38 Are You Mad at Me?
In this segment, the hosts discuss the courageous act of self acceptance and vulnerability. After posting a photo of herself (taken by her husband) in the seventh attempt at a homemade Old Navy Oxford-type shirt revealing her stretch marks and "mom pouch" Vickie received unexpected backlash from family members. Despite this, the host emphasizes the importance of embracing imperfections and using social media as a space for connection and self expression.
The picture also brought messages of support from other moms who felt more empowered and less alone, challenging societal expectations and toxic beliefs about women's bodies.
The conversation also touches on the negative effects of gossip, toxic family dynamics and the limiting beliefs that often surround body shaming. This episode is a powerful reminder to embrace one’s authentic self and to tune out toxic opinions in order to cultivate a healthier relationship with oneself and others.
